hKHS Project Graduation

This all-night drug and alcohol-free celebration is held every year for the graduates of Haddam Killingworth High School as a safe place to celebrate their HUGE accomplishment in a substance free environment. Our mission is to keep our high school graduates and community safe, for what is known as one of the most dangerous nights for 17 & 18 year olds. It is also their last night to be together as a class and a chance for them to create memories that will last a lifetime! The event is held on graduation night from around 10pm until around 5am in the HKHS fieldhouse. Activities may include things such as a DJ, inflatables, games, swimming, contests, and other activities to surprise and entertain the graduates. Food and beverages are available all night long and graduates participate in raffles to earn prizes!

Graduation night can be a perilous night for students. Over the last 35 years, Project Graduation has hosted over 2,000 HKHS graduates and during that time, our communities have not experienced a single graduation night tragedy. Please consider helping with the planning and setup of this amazing event! The committee is still in need of volunteers throughout the school year and for the event itself, including decorating help in the days before graduation.

This is a committee of volunteers from the community including those with kids in high school, some younger, some already graduated, and some who just want to support this great cause. We can always use more help! Whether you are great at decorating, tracking finances, soliciting prize donations, sending emails, etc. - we can find a way for you to help!
